LEHI, UT – July 18, 2008 – From consumers to Congress, global nutrition leader XanGo, LLC, is engaging in key leadership roles in advancing both the mangosteen supplement category it created as well as the greater natural products industry. The latest in its whole food nutrition line, XanGo has launched the XanGo 3SIXTY5™ multi-vitamin brand. At the same time, XanGo is taking steps to ensure products such as 3SIXTY5 are subject to the responsible regulation and best practices of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) and other, related legislation.
"XanGo continues to introduce innovative products that follow our tradition of whole food nutrition and mangosteen leadership," said XanGo Founder and Chief Executive Officer Aaron Garrity. "We actively support and protect our category leadership through a strategic legislative affairs program that helps ensure both broad access to and consumer protection for these products."
XanGo introduces 3SIXTY5
Combining the mangosteen rind with botanical phytonutrients from 12 fruits and 12 vegetables, XanGo's 3SIXTY5 whole food formula provides a complete blend of vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids and CoQ10 to fully complement a daily dose of globally renowned XanGo® Juice.
"3SIXTY5 and XanGo Juice provide balanced daily whole food nutrition," said XanGo Chief Marketing Officer John Digles. "It has been nearly six years since XanGo established the mangosteen supplment category. 3SIXTY5 advances the category and gives our nearly 1 million independent distributors an opportunity to provide consumers with a complete daily nutritional line."
3SIXTY5 uses "chelated technology" that coats its whole food ingredients in amino acids, driving increased absorption. "Our whole food approach provides a complete spectrum of essential vitamins and minerals with whole food blends to provide synergistic benefits and increased bioavailability," Digles said.
Each serving of 3SIXTY5 contains four layers of health protection:
- 3SIXTY5 Daily Essentials – A complete blend of essential vitamins and minerals at optimum levels in bioavailable forms for full absorption
- 3SIXTY5 Whole Food Blend – A blend of antioxidant-packed mangosteen peel concentrate plus 12 fruits and 12 vegetables, enabling each phytonutrient to build off the good of the other elements
- 3SIXTY5 Heart Nutrition – A special blend of CoQ10, marine omega concentrate, olive oil, borage oil, organic flaxseed oil and vitamin E
For Men:
- 3SIXTY5 Men's Nutrition – A mix of natural ingredients, including saw palmetto berry extract and pumpkin seed oil, designed specifically for men's prostate health and energy
For Women:
- 3SIXTY5 Bone Nutrition – A combination of highly absorbable, chelated calcium and magnesium enhanced with flavonoids, vitamin D, boron and other absorption-optimizing nutrients
3SIXTY5 is now available in the United States and is being introduced in Canada and Mexico, two of XanGo's largest international markets, later this year. 3SIXTY5 is distributed in men's and women's formulas with each box containing a one-month supply with AM and PM servings that can be purchased from XanGo's extensive network of independent distributors.
XanGo advances natural product category
Consumer choice and consumer protection serve as pillars of XanGo's public affairs activities that include upholding the integrity of the natural products industry by maintaining the highest product standards, working to preserve DSHEA, and conducting business in full compliance with Adverse Event Reporting (AER) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations.
XanGo is an active Board Member of the Coalition to Preserve DSHEA. The Coalition, led by Chief Executive Officer David Seckman, provides its members, industry leaders, and members of Congress the resources to understand and protect the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act overwhelmingly passed by Congress in 1994. With less than half of the currently elected officials in the House and Senate having been in office at the time of the law's passage, XanGo is actively working to protect consumer access to safe, effective and affordable dietary supplements.
"DSHEA offers greater consumer choice in the marketplace by virtue of a reasonable and thoughtful regulatory framework that helps spur business activity and innovation," Garrity said. "Combined with more recent legislation including the AER Bill as well as GMP guidelines, protection of consumer health and safety is at its highest level through ensuring accurate labeling, standards of safety, quality ingredients and consistent product formulation. "
XanGo has executed on a comprehensive government relations strategy to support responsible, consumer-friendly legislation that involves bipartisan outreach and industry efforts such as the Natural Products Association's annual lobbying event, Natural Products Day, held on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC each spring.
"As a direct seller, we regularly work with retailers to promote the vitality and success of the natural products industry," Garrity said. "It is imperative that we protect the reputation and responsible practices of the industry in combination with instilling greater consumer confidence."
